Yes, thank you and eye contact are what I tend to stick with as well. It IS easier when it’s directed towards our kids and spouses, probably because we don’t have to take credit.

I find it easier to accept compliments on behalf of my girls or husband. I have finally trained myself to just say thank you.

Thank you! I know that I needed a village with my kids. I think we try to be too isolated in our parenting. I want my kids to be open to sharing their lives with other, but I can’t expect them to do that if I don’t.

Thank you for sharing this inspiring post. You have shared so much truth, and I especially love how you mentioned that we should be like a village, designed to care for one another. God bless you!

You and me both. Half the time when I practice with the kids, I’m really practicing for myself.

Thank you! I love that book and the idea behind it. Kids like lessons when they come in metaphors.

It’s amazing what a simple, “thank you,” can do for the other person as well as your own confidence! Love this!

I read “Have You Filled a Bucket Today?” to my kids at school and we refer to it all year! Such a good lesson for little ones!

We’re in good company — I borrowed that phrase from Philip Yancey.
