]]>I will hold your hand from here on out. I think the only answer I’ve come up with for this is to model every kind of normal I can. Just eat what’s there and be grateful because it’s there. And then eat the fancy stuff and be grateful because it’s fun and fancy. And eat the healthy stuff and be grateful because it will help you grow and be happy. And wear the comfy stuff and be grateful because it’s comfy. And were the cute stuff and be grateful because you’re beautiful always. These are my life lessons I’m working on for me and them.
]]>I think it starts with us. They see EVERYTHING, even us looking at ourselves in the mirror. And I see other moms talk badly about their bodies to each other in front of their kids or talk about the new diet they’ve just started or how they cannot believe they ate that dessert. You know that scene from Old School where Vince Vaughn yells “earmuffs” and covers his kids’ ears every time he’s about to say something inappropriate? I want to yell “earmuffs” when I hear stuff like that. Ave is going to be a strong woman and it will be in part because of that “bigger” bathing suit you wore and your priorities in the right place. We have to fight back however we can.
