MY in-laws are from Knoxville! (We’re in Nashville). I think there needs to be a playdate in our future.
]]>Crazy, right?!? And, I saw you’re in Tennessee? We are moving there this year once our house sells (hopefully spring/early summer). 🙂 My in-laws are just outside Knoxville, and that’s where we are headed. 🙂
]]>Okay, so we are twin soul mates. Both taught C.S. Lewis and went through infertility and had twins and lived to tell the tale. That is too crazy!
]]>I taught an elective on CS Lewis, and we read both of those! The kids totally got and loved TSL – so eye-opening for them. TGD was a little deep, but the ones who got it had their minds blown! lol
]]>I LOVE Screwtape Letters. I taught a high school English seminar on Lewis and this was always my favorite one to get to (and also The Great Divorce).
]]>I love that you landed on that same verse too Emily!
]]>“The humans live in time, and experience reality successively. To experience much of it, therefore, they must experience many different things; in other words, they must experience change. And since they need change, the Enemy (being a hedonist at heart) has made change pleasurable to them, just as He has made eating pleasurable. But since He does not wish them to make change, any more than eating, an end in itself, He has balanced the love of change in them by a love of permanence. He has contrived to gratify both tastes together in the very world He has made, by that union of change and permanence which we call Rhythm. He gives them the seasons, each season different yet every year the same, so that spring is always felt as a novelty yet always as the recurrence of an immemorial theme.”
This gave me a lot to think about. It’s a huge comfort that, in a tough time, God keeps things moving along and it won’t be like that forever. The flip side, of course, is that the good times keep moving, too. But that points us to the eternal good time coming, right?!?
Thanks, again! 🙂
]]>Green smoothies in general make me laugh. I’m always like, “why? why do that to myself?” : )
]]>Thank you Amy!
