Oh, Meg. I read your piece from last week on Ave and wanted to curl up with you both. That was right when Charlie was FINALLY turning the corner towards better. In some ways I think it is harder on us than them, because they don’t really know why they feel terrible, but we do and we know the only thing we can do is give it time and hugs and steam baths and wait it out.

Watching them be sick and waiting to see if it’ll get better or worse is so heartbreaking especially because they don’t really understand it, other than they feel miserable. Ave had her first real cold last week (and we’re still working on the tail end of it), and it was just as hard for me as it was for her, for very different reasons. Sigh, parenting is tough.
