Oh Meg. Let me know how it goes. And there is NO WAY you could have or should have done anything differently. You are doing everything you can with the knowledge you have!!

Okay, I get as stressed out as Ave in new environments. I am an introvert who has extrovert tendencies. I like being around people, but only in small doses because it wears me out.

Thank you so much Christina! I want to help as many parents out there as I can. Sometimes you want to talk to an expert, but more often than not you just need another mom who’s been there.

I always appreciate your candid articles. There’s no doubt in my mind I crossed paths with you for a reason (or maybe a few). My son has an appointment next week to see if this very thing is what’s (been) going on, which we didn’t know of and thought in prior years would outgrow. I feel like I should have followed my gut sooner but rather than feeling bad I am just hoping we can get some answers!

It’s like nails on the chalkboard almost all the time. While Ave thankfully seems alright with this, she does get overwhelmed easily in new and crowded environments (who wouldn’t?) and when she was a newborn I discovered one outing per day was about all she could handle. People would say, “Bring her out. She’ll pass out and fall asleep,” which is pretty much the opposite of what happened. She’d end up crying non-stop and then we’d go and breastfeed in a corner or another room until it was time to leave. I learned that lesson the hard way.

I love how your stylist found a workaround in helping your son and you experience a haircut that was less stressful, and that you give the reader not only awareness, but also a positive way to help. Thank you for sharing your son’s and your journey through all of this. Prayers for continual strength, growth and healing in the name of Jesus.
