I can easily get distracted, too, if I allow myself. Serving on a church staff I learned to sit in the back least someone need me during a service, but that can present its own attention problems. Since I’ve retired and started attending a new church, we sit near the front and I have been so refreshed. Because by God’s grace, I have a focus I hadn’t had in a while. Thanks for sharing and hosting!

The way you feel about your Church is how I feel about distancing myself from my phone. It’s caused me to refocus and recenter and it’s lovely. Maybe we should sing a round of “Amen.”

This is an excellent reminder of purposing to turn on our “thought spotlight” and aiming it right on Him.

I know I can do better to focus, for sure. But I’ve really seen God’s grace in this time in my life that, inspite of my current ADD, He’s still finding ways to get through and speak to me. I’m so grateful for that- it’s been such a sweet testament to His faithfulness to me, even when I’m pretty lacking in the focus department. But the conversations are definitely more substantial when I’m able to ‘lock-in.’ Thanks for the reminder! (And praying you have a special ‘vacation’!)

And I’m struck by the irony of how I have laser focus that lets me read or write literally anywhere, but my brain is flibbertigibbeting all over the place on Sunday mornings.
Poignant: “God asks so little of us, really.”
So true.
