Today, I\u2019m sharing a poem by Madeleine L\u2019Engle. It’s more often been associated with Advent, but for me this IS the resurrection and the definition of hope and celebration in a darkened world.<\/h2>\n

He did not wait till the world was ready,<\/em>
\ntill men and nations were at peace.<\/em>
\nHe came when the Heavens were unsteady,<\/em>
\nand prisoners cried out for release.<\/em><\/p>\n

He did not wait for the perfect time.<\/em>
\nHe came when the need was deep and great.<\/em>
\nHe dined with sinners in all their grime,<\/em>
\nturned water into wine.<\/em><\/p>\n

He did not wait till hearts were pure.<\/em>
\nIn joy he came to a tarnished world of sin and doubt.<\/em>
\nTo a world like ours, of anguished shame<\/em>
\nhe came, and his Light would not go out.<\/em><\/p>\n

He came to a world which did not mesh,<\/em>
\nto heal its tangles, shield its scorn.<\/em>
\nIn the mystery of the Word made Flesh<\/em>
\nthe Maker of the stars was born.<\/em><\/p>\n

We cannot wait till the world is sane<\/em>
\nto raise our songs with joyful voice,<\/em>
\nfor to share our grief, to touch our pain,<\/em>
\nHe came with Love: Rejoice! Rejoice!<\/em><\/p>\n
