Parenting Special Needs
When I prayed for children and when I pictured those children, I picture what everyone does: a minivan, chaos, teething, first foods, first steps. Motherhood was “the big show” and I had a ticket. But our picture looks very different: minivan (plus wheelchair), chaos (plus twins), teething (plus trach), first foods (plus g-tube), and first steps (plus braces and gait trainer). We’re a world of pluses and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. To all you other special needs parents out there…you are superheroes. Your picture isn’t like everyone else’s. It’s in technicolor.
